Tom George connects viewers to the stories that matter, whether behind the desk or in the field. He is currently a news anchor and reporter for ABC-owned WTVD in Raleigh / Durham, NC.

Tom's reporting spans international and national events, including White House coverage, U.S.-Asia relations in Korea, major political developments, and breaking news such as the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.  He has anchored nightly newscasts for KITV4 (ABC) in Honolulu, Hawai'i, and has also reported and anchored in Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and Macon, Georgia.

A Maryland native and proud Terp, Tom graduated from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism and interned at the NBC News Washington Bureau and for WRC-TV NBC4 in Washington, D.C.

 

Fluent in Spanish, and having studied in Barcelona, Spain and grown up partially in England, he brings a global perspective to every story.  Every day is a privilege connecting with new people and places, and being able to inform and inspire the community with reporting that makes a difference.
